Individual Note

Thomas Samuel Musson was my great grandfather and on the night of the 1881 census, he was visiting Julia Bayfield with his uncle, John Musson, who was an Evangelist. Thomas Samuel Musson was the son of George Musson (died 1878)and Caroline Amelia Musson (nee Austin)who had remarried James Gelsthorpe and died in 1883.Thomas did have a brother, John and sister, Phillis who I have had difficulty locating in 1881 but in 1891 they seem to be living with relatives in the Austin family in Long Eaton. Thomas' grandfather was also called Thomas and his occupation is listed as a baker in Long Eaton. This line of the Musson family moved to Long Eaton from Long Clawson in Leicestershire on or about the early 1800's.
